OVERVIEW The rapid growth of Crestron is creating new and exciting opportunities to join a Database team focused on providing all aspects of databases and analytics support across the organization. As part of this team, this position will play an important role in shaping the future of Crestron's decision-making process to enhance a platform that will improve every departments ability to analyze and process information effectively and efficiently. RESPONSIBILITIES Manage Microsoft SQL Server database instances, on-premises and in the cloud Responsible for various environments from constantly changing developments to mission-critical production Build, configure, and maintain the environments to provide the highest levels of performance, availability, and security Serve as a point of escalation to the various teams concerning data solutions Develop Stored procedures, triggers, views, functions, ETL and reports to support enhancement to critical SQL based business systems. Produce appropriate documentation for deployment, configuration, and related processes for multiple systems Work with technical staff and our business divisions on all things related to data operations Collaborate with the Systems team to promote, re-use, and develop consistent technical build, implementation, and support processes Work closely with the Development, Product, and PMO teams to accomplish cross-departmental projects and initiatives Be the subject matter expert for the Database Operations team when concerning new technologies, processes, and improvements provide as needed support during non-business hours and weekly rotations. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Science Or equivalent experience working in a Database/Business intelligence environment. 3-5 years of experience working with SQL Server and related technologies such as Power BI, SSRS SSIS etc. Experience in script creation, designing, developing, and testing database objects (tables, views, stored procedures, indexes, functions, constraints etc.) Experience with query optimization, performance tuning, indexing, disaster recovery. Strong scripting and automation skills PowerShell, Python etc. T-SQL script optimization, database tuning, and backup/restore functions. Ability to communicate technical concepts and implications to peers, managers, and business Understanding and experience of data warehouse principals Relational database experience within a multi-tiered environment; including normalization techniques and use of database performance and monitoring tools Experience with Database High Availability solutions - Clustering, Always On etc. Knowledge of Cloud Database and BI technologies in Azure or AWS.
